Wedding trends and ideas

We had a lovely spring wedding reception at The Venue last weekend, and I wanted to share a few ideas and trends from their event.

Charcoal is a hugely popular color this season.  It brings a modern look to the decor, and I think, an understated elegance.  Not as harsh as stark white or black, charcoal is a great neutral to consider.

Clients always ask our advice about the type of wedding favors they should provide.  Edible is a great way to go, and guests seem to really enjoy it.  One of the more delicious and creative ideas that I have seen are the homemade marshmallows pictured above.  A celophane bag and cute black gift tag with silver writing finish the favor with flair.

The Venue has great high ceilings, but tall centerpieces can be expensive.  I love the simplicity of these trumpet vases (purchased at Garden Ridge) with gorgeous full blooms of white hydrangea.  They really draw the eye up to the atrium windows.  I hope you enjoy the sunshine this weekend, and check back soon for more event photos!
